Artist statement
My compositions pair the intimate with the expansive. Finches and other small birds perch among tangled branches and reeds in the foreground, while beyond them a river, a cottage and walkers with a dog sit beneath skies of swirling cloud and flocks in flight. Weather, water and migration give the work its movement, and people appear as one part of a wider natural world.
